How is your life as an entrepreneur? Did your dream of having a more enjoyable life came true?

If you’ve been running your own business for several years already, you know for yourself that being an entrepreneur is not all rainbows and unicorns – especially during the first years of your business.

There are many times that you felt down, discouraged and wished of quitting. Your work-life balance became even rockier to the point that you’re sleep-deprived and don’t have enough time for fun and relaxation.

But don’t quit yet! While every entrepreneur may experience rocky times and starts hating what they are doing, it is never too late to make your work more enjoyable again.

Here are some tips that you can do to regain that feeling of enjoyment when working on your business:

Take a break and eat!

No, taking a break isn’t wasting any of your time. Taking breaks and eating meals are a part of being a successful entrepreneur. It helps you to recharge your energy, giving your body the strength to deal with even tough tasks.

Also, eating helps you relieve the feeling of being angry and stressful. Do you ever notice to yourself that you get grumpy every time you are hungry? It’s because your blood glucose level drops, affecting your concentration, decision, and behaviour.

Once your stomach is all filled up, your mood will improve and you’ll have more fun while you work.

Focus on doing what you like.

Another reason why you can’t enjoy your work and life is that you keep on doing things you hate. You quit your 9-5 job because you want to have more control in your life, right? You want to gain more freedom that’s why you become CEO.

For example, you don’t like checking and answering all of your emails (since it takes too much of your time), you can outsource it or hire a new staff for the role. This way, you’ll have more time for yourself and focus on doing things that you really like.

Leave work at home.

Most of the time, your life as an entrepreneur becomes a total mess because you don’t know when to stop. To make your work more enjoyable, only work when you’re at your workplace and stop working when you get back home.

Usually, you become unhappy because you’re only doing work and no play. Working in the office and at home won’t speed up reaching your success goals. You’ll be too stressed out and exhausted because of too much work.

On the other hand, if you’re a work at home entrepreneur, give yourself a time limit on when you should work or not.

Have a positive mindset.

How do you view things in life? If you’re a pessimist one, then you’re missing out a lot on having a more enjoyable life experience. Viewing things negatively will only make you more stressful, always worrying even on little things.

But if you have a positive mindset, you’ll make your work more enjoyable. You’ll see things in a different light and you’ll feel that you’re always pumped up with energy to face any challenges you encounter during the day.

To help you keep a positive mindset, always be thankful and surround yourself with happy people so that you will also get their positivity.

Don’t compare yourself to other people’s success.

It’s okay to get a little envious when someone you know has reached success first before you do. After all, we’re humans too. But remember that a person’s definition of success isn’t always the same as yours.

Be patient. If they have reached their success goals faster than you, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to. Comparing yourself to other people’s success will only add more stress and pressure to yourself that will make your life more miserable.

Work at your own pace. If others have left you behind, remember that you can always catch up on them depending on the effort you give.
